Eric Blanchard works primarily in the directors and officers liability insurance area, representing both primary and excess insurers in all facets of coverage analysis, case oversight and case resolution on underlying claims ranging from employment matters to securities class actions. Eric’s experience includes claims involving policyholders from non-profit organizations to Fortune 500 companies.

Eric also has significant experience with matters arising from employment practices liability, and non-profit organization liability policies, as well as with investment manager, errors and omissions, and other professional liability coverage. His practice also involves insurance coverage litigation, including representing clients in litigations, mediations, arbitrations and appeals.

Recent victories include briefing and arguing a successful Seventh Circuit appeal on the question of whether a party was an insured under his client’s policy; serving as lead attorney on a dismissal and affirmance in the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division for an excess directors and officers liability insurer on failure to exhaust underlying insurance; playing a key role in a successful coverage arbitration for an excess insurer based on California Insurance Code Section 533 in a trade secret infringement and unfair competition matter; and drafting a successful summary judgment motion concerning a related claims issue in Florida federal court. Eric also has experience with policy drafting and provides other insurance counseling services to his clients.
