Krista focuses her practice on complex litigation, medical malpractice and insurance coverage. She has extensive litigation experience representing clients in a variety of matters including, but not limited to: torts, wrongful death, commercial, medical malpractice defense, and discrimination/sexual harassment.
Importantly, Krista has successfully argued hundreds of motions that have resulted in favorable outcomes to her clients. This includes dispositive motions where Krista obtained dismissals with prejudice on behalf of her clients. She has also taken hundreds of depositions and presented dozens of clients and experts for their depositions.
Throughout Krista's career, she's had expansive reach as a litigator, representing clients in several counties, courts and states. She is barred in both Illinois and Wisconsin. Prior to coming to Walker Wilcox, Krista had her own practice. She also spent time working in insurance defense and as a legal aid attorney where she helped people most affected by gun violence obtain A to Z legal help.
Krista has always had a passion for helping others and enjoys working on pro bono cases. In 2020, she founded the nonprofit Courageous Convictions that helps people going through reentry find meaningful employment by becoming their own bosses. Recently, she founded a scholarship called: The Krista Krepp Powerful Voices Award, for mock trial participants at Northern Illinois University (a program that she was involved in when she attended school there).
While she attended law school at Chicago-Kent, Krista was a 711 extern at the Cook County Public Defender’s Office. This opportunity allowed her to first chair in several bench trials and play lead roles in jury trials. Additionally, Krista competed in the nationally ranked trial advocacy program (4th in nation) on prestigious teams such as AAJ.
